World War II era
"Saving Own Sanitary Victory Pins Is Your Duty and Responsibility"
Personal Packages of Steel Bobby Pins
SMITH VICTORY CORP.
BUFFALO, N.Y.
MINT CONDITION
Steel was so crucial to the war effort that even bobby pins were carefully saved and re-used during World War II. Each beauty salon patron was asked to bring back their own bobby pins for each appointment, so they could be used over and over. This was also more sanitary than dealing with shared pins.
You will receive two unopened packages of the pins, plus one opened package, so you can add them to your display of vintage vanity items. The writing on the packages would also make these a good addition to your collection of WWII memorabilia.
Each package measures about 4 1/4" by 2 1/2", and the individual bobby pins are 2" long and 1/2" wide at the opening.
The packages are in excellent vintage condition. The unopened ones have no tears, and the corners are intact. All the writing is very readable on all three packs. There is age darkening, as one would expect from 60+ year old paper, but no foxing. The open bag does have a line of black spots on the side.
You can save money on this item when you purchase several at a time. The table below shows the minimum quantities required to benefit from this offer, and how much they'll cost.
