Vintage Black Serving Tray
circa 1960's?
If you're looking for a truly authentic Coca Cola advertising serving tray for your shabby chic decorating scheme, this is the one for you.
This large colorful black tray, with a gold wheat pattern around the scalloped rim, depicts various dishes that might be part of a buffet spread, such as a cheese ball, a relish and nut tray, cinnamon rolls, fruit, a fancy fondue pot, and, of course, a cut glass bowl full of Coke bottles on ice. There is no date on the tray, but I found some indication online that this tray might be from the 1960's.
It measures about 18 1/2" long by 13 1/2" wide, and it is almost an inch deep.
This tray has two small dents that have poked through the back side, that I have tried to show in the photos. The colors are bright, but the finish is not in good shape. There are numerous rust areas, scratches, in the finish, particularly on the back. If you are looking for a piece that looks old, this would be perfect. If you are looking for a mint or near mint piece, this isn't it!
Despite its obvious age wear, I found it to be very attractive.
